We have been retained by a global Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing Company to search for a Trade Compliance Director in Washington DC.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Empowered Official for trade compliance.
- Research and interpret U.S. and international trade regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR, OFAC, Customs).
- Review international trade activities, obtain necessary licenses, and ensure compliance.
- Prepare and track export license applications and authorizations.
- Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures.
- Manage Technology Control Plans and ensure accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with freight forwarders and Customs Brokers for export/import documentation.
- Provide compliance assistance and conduct audits.
- Develop and deliver training programs on trade compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in ITAR, EAR, and OFAC compliance.
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. and international trade laws.
- Experience with export licenses, Technical Assistance Agreements, and compliance audits.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database programs.
- U.S. Protected Individual status required.
Preferred:
- Experience with DDTC or DTSA.
- Experience in an ITAR environment.
