Scope and Purpose:
The Legal Counsel - Commercial role is part of the Corporate Legal team and provides effective commercial legal support to the wider business. This role involves working closely with key stakeholders from various departments across the organization, advising on commercial issues, and negotiating and finalizing commercial contracts.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, with a focus on agreements related to PR and Marketing, Operations, Sales, and IT. This includes contracts with SaaS and Cloud service providers, service supplier agreements, location filming agreements, event contracts, distribution channels agreements, and sponsorship agreements, among others.
• Manage contract databases and maintain files.
• Oversee the administration and training of the electronic signature software (DocuSign) for various departments.
• Assist in promoting compliance with the organization's contract policy by providing training and suggesting updates to the policy and processes when needed.
• Ensure that the organization’s booking terms and conditions are up-to-date.
• Prepare and update contract templates and maintain an up-to-date repository for key stakeholders. Provide regular training to stakeholders on contract templates and relevant legal issues for their roles.
• Assist the Director of Legal, Commercial, and General Counsel in implementing and improving processes while maintaining engagement with internal stakeholders to provide timely and accurate legal advice.
• Support the management of the organization’s trademark portfolio, third-party trademark licenses, and assist the web development team with domain name issues.
• Keep the Director of Legal, Commercial, and General Counsel informed about significant legal matters.
• Take on additional responsibilities and support other areas of the legal function as needed.
• Monitor, assess, and highlight specific legal risks related to contracts and keep the legal team updated.
• Effectively manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use utilities and resources responsibly to minimize wastage.
• Communicate relevant information within the department and across the organization as needed.
• Comply with safe working practices, Health and Safety policies, and ensure accidents or defects are reported immediately.
• Attend learning and development courses and complete eLearning modules as required.
