They’re seeking a Human Rights officer to be the SME on all things Human Rights and lead them through the growing pressures of supply chain due diligence legislation and towards a strategically robust human rights program, in tandem with their progressive and market leading environmental sustainability team.  

 

About the Role: 

 

We are seeking an experienced Human Rights Officer to join our global compliance team in Geneva. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our company meets the highest human rights and supply chain due diligence standards, with a particular focus on the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) and other relevant international regulations. 

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the automotive industry, bringing a deep understanding of the sector’s supply chain complexities, regulatory landscape, and ESG challenges. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to implement responsible sourcing practices, conduct risk assessments, and drive continuous improvement in human rights compliance. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Supply Chain Due Diligence: Ensure compliance with LkSG, EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and other relevant laws by conducting risk analyses and supplier audits. 

  • Industry-Specific Compliance: Leverage deep knowledge of the automotive sector to address human rights risks in global supply chains, including raw material sourcing, Tier 1-3 suppliers, and responsible procurement practices. 

  • Policy Development & Implementation: Develop and enforce company policies on human rights, responsible sourcing, and ethical supply chain practices, ensuring alignment with UNGPs, OECD Guidelines, and industry standards. 

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with suppliers, industry associations, NGOs, and regulatory bodies to drive industry-wide best practices in human rights due diligence. 

  • Training & Capacity Building: Develop and deliver training programs for internal teams and suppliers on human rights, LkSG requirements, and supply chain transparency. 

  • Monitoring & Reporting: Oversee due diligence processes, maintain detailed records, and prepare reports for senior management and external stakeholders, ensuring full regulatory compliance. 

 

  • Required Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Automotive industry experience is essential – strong knowledge of manufacturing supply chains, supplier engagement, and industry-specific risks. 

  • Expertise in LkSG, EU CSDDD, and other supply chain due diligence regulations impacting the automotive sector. 

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in human rights, ESG compliance, or supply chain due diligence, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing industries. 

  • Strong understanding of international human rights frameworks (e.g., UNGPs, OECD Due Diligence Guidance, ILO Standards). 

  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, supplier audits, and regulatory reporting. 

  • Excellent written and spoken English; German and/or French is a plus.
