An AI-generated narrative may sound convincing while lacking the specific technical detail required to support a compliant claim. Worse still, generic descriptions can appear remarkably similar across multiple submissions, potentially increasing scrutiny if they do not accurately reflect the underlying project activity.

As many experienced practitioners observe, the risk is not that AI produces poor writing. The risk is that it produces plausible writing that is technically incorrect.

Ultimately, someone with sufficient technical and legislative expertise must review, challenge and validate the output.

 

The shift from production to validation

Rather than eliminating jobs, AI is changing how R&D tax professionals spend their time.
